Kasargod: 8-year-old boy electrocuted to death

Kasargod: In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old boy was killed on Tuesday, October 19, as he apparently came into contact with a power line at Morattane near Vorkady.

The victim has been identified as Mokshit Raj Shetty, son of Sadashiva Shetty, and was a student of Talakala Lower Primary School.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the boy had gone to play at an under-construction house nearby his house. It is learnt that he came in contact with a low hanging power line that passed close to the stairs of the building.

When the boy did not return even after a long time, the worried parents began searching for him. The lifeless body was found on the first floor of the building, sources said.

The mortal remains are kept at a general hospital in Kasargod for post-mortem analysis.
