Kasargod: Kasargod police in an operation arrested a man with more than Rs 43 lakhs of demonetized Rs 500 notes at Vidyanagar on the outskirts of the town.
The police had received a tip-off about such money being moved. They started inspecting vehicles in the Vidyanagar area and found the stash in a Swift car coming that way. They arrested the man in the car but another car escorting the Swift fled away.
A manhunt has been started by the police while also investigating the source of the currency notes and where it was headed.
