Katapadi: Amith Anchan from Mattu, Kote village, has entered the International Book of Records for creating a metal sculpture of Lord Shiva using approximately 7,600 steel nuts.
This impressive feat, which took three months of hard work, earned him the title of “Youngest to Make the Biggest Sculpture of Lord Shiva Using Metal Nuts” in the record book.
The sculpture, made entirely of steel nuts, stands 3.5 feet wide and 5 feet tall. Amith, the son of progressive farmers Mattu Lakshman and Pramila, holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering. He first created a clay model of Lord Shiva, then crafted the final piece by welding 58 kilograms of steel nuts together.
Udupi Deputy Commissioner, Dr. K. Vidya Kumari, praised the young man’s achievement.
