BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel on Tuesday expressed concerns over the state government’s proposal to withdraw the Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, stating that it may lead to unrest in the district.
Kateel emphasized the significance of cows in the country, highlighting the importance of cows in agriculture, daily life, and religious worship.
“The BJP had enacted the law to protect cows, citing Mahatma Gandhi’s advocacy for cow protection. I urge Minister Priyank Kharge to exercise caution in his statements and respect the sentiments of the people,” he added.
Kateel also demanded that the police take stringent action against those involved in cow slaughter.
