Mangaluru: Addressing reporters, MP Kateel noted that the use of ‘page pramukhs’ is the strategy that was followed in Gujarat and turns out it has worked quite well in Dakshina Kannada and other parts of the State. The work of ‘page pramukhs’ is crucial in Bharatiya Janata Party’s good performance in Dakshina Kannada, Tuesday, on May 15.
“Each page pramukh was given a task to ensure voting of all the 30 candidates mentioned in the voters’ list. It’s their work that has helped our candidates win comfortably,” Kateel added.
“The same strategy will be followed for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019,” he said. Speaking in reference to the defeat of BJP in Mangaluru Assembly constituency, Mr. Kateel said the party candidate there has given a good fight.
BJP dedicated the victory of seven of their candidates from Dakshina Kannada to Prashant Poojary, Deepak Rao and Sharath Madiwala, the slain BJP and RSS activists in the distric. Kateel said party workers have tirelessly worked for the past two years.
“The party workers’ efforts and the strategy by district BJP leaders and BJP president Amit Shah has paid dividends,” he said.
MP Kateel promised that the seven BJP legislators will work hard to implement development programmes of the Union government.
Ganesh Karnik, MLC, told media that the victory of the party candidates in the coastal region and in other areas of the state proved how voters rejected appeasement politics followed by Congress government.
“The policies and actions of the government have led the majority community vote in favor of our party,” he added.
