Kinnigoli: A 60-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances at Durga Nagar of Kondela Village under the Kinnigoli Town Panchayat on Sunday, October 29. Police suspect it to be a case of murder and have launched an investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Ratna Shetty. She reportedly worked at a hotel run by Balakrishna near Gidigere Church near Kateel and lived with her son Raviraj in a room adjoining Blakrishna’s house.
She had not reported to work on Friday claiming to be ill.
According to locals, her son, meanwhile, had gone missing. Their room was found locked.
On Sunday morning a foul smell started wafting from the room. When people peeped through the window, they found Ratna with her hands and feet tied and her face covered with a cloth. Police were soon informed.
Meanwhile, Bajpe police have taken up the case and are investigating.
