A 65-year-old woman pedestrian died after being hit by a speeding car at Muloor on NH 66 on Wednesday, November 22.
The deceased, Leelavathi Salian, a resident of Muloor Mahalaxmi Nagara had gone to the post office at Muloor to withdraw cash. The mishap took place when she was returning home.
As per witnesses Leelavathi was flung into the air and fell onto the road thus sustaining serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital but she died on the way.
Reportedly, the accident occurred due to reckless driving by the car driver.
Kaup police personnel arrived at the accident spot and took the car driver into custody.
