A 20-year-old man who mysteriously disappeared after leaving his bike and other belongings near Kaup Beach, was found dead in the Padukere sea.
Karan Salian, son of Narayan Salian from Kaup Padu village, left home on June 5 around 3 PM, stating he would be going to the market, but did not return. His bike, phone, and a purse with cash were later found near Kaup Beach. Family members and locals conducted an extensive search in and around Kaup Beach.
Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, former MLA Lalaji R. Mendon, and JD(S) District President Yogish Shetty visited the beach to console the family.
On Friday afternoon, locals noticed a body floating in the Padukere sea. They retrieved the body and informed the police. The police contacted Karan’s family, who identified the body.
Karan Salian was scheduled to travel to a European country at the end of the month. The sudden disappearance and subsequent discovery of his body in the sea just days before his departure has left his parents devastated. The exact reasons for his apparent suicide are still unknown, and police investigations are ongoing.
