Kaup: A car driver, who had come to fill fuel in his vehicle at Muloor Bharat Petroleum Pump on National Highway 66 allegedly damaged the fuel units and assaulted the staff here on Sunday night.

As per reports, the car driver had asked the pump attendant to fill diesel worth Rs 2,000. The staffer, named Ankit mistakenly pulled out a petrol nozzle instead of the diesel one thus infuriating the car driver who went on a rampage and stomped over the petrol and diesel units, breaking the seeping machine.

At this time the pump supervisor, Pushparaj intervened and told the driver that he had returned the money paid in a bid to calm him down. The driver however assaulted Pushparaj, who has been admitted to Udupi Ajjarakadu Hospital for treatment.
