Kaup: Congress party believes that its candidates at all the five constituencies in Udupi will win. Amidst that, Kaup constituency has seen a lot of development works which will bring victory to Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Previously, Gurme Suresh Shetty shined as a Congress leader belonging to the Bunt community, but subject to reasons he joined BJP as a party ticket aspirant. BJP did not give Gurme party ticket, though he was close with the Reddy brothers, which has caused disappointment to the Bunt community. Likewise, BJP gave the ticket to Lalaji Mendon who has already lost against Vinay Kuamr Sorake, who belongs to the Mogaveera community.  This has disappointed the supporters of BJP leader Yashpal Suvarna. The development works of Congress administered Kaup constituency will give answer to all doubts by winning the election.

In Kaup, the votes of the Billava’s and Mogaveera’s are important and the votes of the Bunt’s are substantial. Congress candidate Sorake is the only and unquestionable leader of the Billava community. The opinion of victory is dependent on the higher number of voters. Sorake is a personal friend to many leaders of the Mogaveera and Bunt community, who didn’t receive the party ticket. Sorake’s good and honest personality and working for the benefit of the people will act as a plus point for him.

Sorake blends with the people irrespective of their caste or creed and has already met most of the voters.

“I might be a Billava. For the last 4 years, I have been a loyal Congress worker and have worked as an MP at the centre and as a minister in the state. Till now I have never indulged in caste based politics. I am with you only with the aim to help the people. A little of what I’ve done is in front of you. There is a lot remaining to be done, which is my concern,” said Vinay Kumar Sorake.

“By not giving the party ticket to Gurme, BJP has cheated the Bunt community. Our youth still cannot endure this. Therefore, our youth are thinking of looking towards Sorake and his development work,” said Deviprasad Shetty Belapu.
