Kaup: The Public Works Department (PWD) Minister’s office officially announced the cancellation of the proposed toll gate at Kanchnadak on the Padubidri-Karkala State Highway on Friday (August 23).
Former Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, along with Congress workers, had organized a massive protest at Kanchinadaka on Wednesday, August 21, demanding the cancellation of the toll gate and urging the authorities not to proceed with the toll implementation on this road.
Following this, a Congress delegation led by Sorake met PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi in Bengaluru to discuss local issues in detail.
The PWD Minister’s office has now officially issued an order cancelling the construction of the toll gate.
The Kaup Block Congress Committee, in a press release, expressed gratitude to the public, various organizations, Congress leaders, and workers for their support and cooperation in this struggle.
