Kaup: Renowned Nagaswara player Sheikh Jalil Saheb passes away

Kaup: Sheikh Jalil Saheb, a renowned Nagaswara player from Kaup, passed away at the age of 56 due to a heart attack on Monday morning. Survived by his wife, daughter, and brother, he leaves behind a large circle of relatives and fans.
On Saturday, he played Nagaswara during Mullamutte at Koppalangadi, participated in Deepavali celebrations, and performed at Kapu Sri Lakshmi Janardana temple on Sunday.
On Monday morning, he suffered a fatal heart attack while having tea in a hotel. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Jalil Saheb, known for his dedication to Nagaswara, had served in various temples, including the Sannidhi of Lord Mahatobhara Sri Lakshmi Janardana and Kaup Mariamma Devi Sannidhi.
For the past 40 years, Jalil Saheb passionately played Nagaswara, inheriting the art from his grandfather Imam Saheb, and father Baban Saheb. Despite being a Muslim, he held a deep respect and love for the Hindu religion, traditions, and culture, earning admiration for his skill in Nagaswara Vadan.
Condolences were expressed by various prominent figures in Kaup, including MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA Lalaji R. Mendon, JDS District President Yogesh Shetty Balaji, and Kaup Sri Lakshmi Janardana Temple executive officer Arun Kumar B.K.
