Kaup: In a disturbing incident, a group of unidentified persons reportedly followed the car of Congress leader Ghulam Mohammad Hejmadi (55) with an alleged intent to harm him. The incident took place near the Udyavara Bridge on National Highway 66.
Ghulam Mohammad, driver Asif, and supervisor Abu Bakkar were traveling from Manipal to Hejmadi when a white Maruti Celerio began tailing them. The vehicle reportedly tried to aggressively hit Ghulam’s car from behind.
When the car reached Katapadi Junction, the three men in the trailing vehicle allegedly stared menacingly at Ghulam through their car window. Frightened, Ghulam’s driver quickly drove towards Shirva Road, while the unidentified men headed towards Mangaluru.
It is suspected that these individuals intended to harm or intimidate Ghulam Mohammad. A case has been registered at Kaup Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
