A woman constable of Kaup police station on Saturday, March 30 took her own life within the police quarters.
The woman has been identified as Jyoti, hailing from Bagalkot.
The deceased police personnel had reportedly fulfilled her duty as usual on Friday before returning to qaurters in the evening. It is said that she committed suicide on Saturday morning after her husband left for work.
Authorities, including Kaup Tahsildar Pratibha R and Udupi District Police ASP Siddalimgappa, visited the scene of the incident to assess the situation. However, the exact reason behind Jyoti’s decision to take such a drastic step remains unknown.
