Kaup: A woman from Maswad village in Satara district, Maharashtra, who had been wandering aimlessly on the streets twelve years ago, has finally been reunited with her family. The staff of the ‘Vishwasada Mane’ orphanage facilitated this heartwarming reunion, earning widespread appreciation.
In October 2012, an unkempt woman was found wandering by the roadside. Her hair was matted, and her clothes were in tatters. The staff of the Vishwasada Mane orphanage brought her in, bathed her, cleaned her up, and provided her with basic medical care. However, due to language barriers, they were unable to ascertain her identity or address. Despite this, they continued to care for her.
During this period, Dr. Sharma and his assistant Dr. Rishikesh from KMC Hospital visited the orphanage. Dr. Rishikesh succeeded in communicating with the woman and discovered that she was from Maswad village in Satara district, Maharashtra. The police then contacted Vimala’s son through their acquaintance, Sagar Pawar, and informed him about his mother’s whereabouts. Upon receiving the news, Vimala’s son and sister arrived at the Vishwasada Mane orphanage in Shankarpura and identified her.
Vimala had left her home in 2010. She had been living with her husband and three children but had left one night due to a mental health condition. Her family had searched for her everywhere and had even filed a police complaint. When they could not find her, they assumed she had passed away. Now, with her being found alive at Vishwasada Mane, her children and sister are overjoyed. They expressed their gratitude to the head of Vishwasada Mane, Pastor Sunil John D’Souza, and took Vimala home.
