Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced his intention to surrender at Tihar Jail later today. Before his surrender, Kejriwal plans to pay his respects at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial at Raj Ghat and seek blessings at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
Kejriwal was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on May 10, allowing him to campaign for the Lok Sabha polls. The elections concluded on June 1.
Addressing his supporters, Kejriwal thanked the Supreme Court for the interim release and said, ‘Today I will go to Tihar and surrender. I will leave home at 3 pm, visit Raj Ghat, Hanuman Temple, the party office, and then proceed to Tihar.’ He added, ‘I will be worried about you. If you are happy, your Kejriwal will also be happy in jail. Jai Hind.’
