Kemmannu Ganapati Sahakari Vyavasayaka Sangha to celebrate ‘Shatabhivandanam’ on October 27

Udupi: Established in 1923 by the late P. Venkata Krishna Rao and the late Janab Ali Saheb, the Kemmannu Ganapati Sahakari Vyavasayaka Sangha, currently celebrating its centenary, will conclude its ‘Shatabhivandanam’ celebrations on Sunday, October 27. The event will be held from 8 AM to 6 PM at the grounds of the Kemmannu Government Pre-University College.

The centenary celebration will be inaugurated by Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of SCDCC Bank. Former Lokayukta Justice N. Santosh Hegde will light the ceremonial lamp. The President of the Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, Manipal, will distribute gifts to various beneficiaries.

The event will be presided over by Society President T. Satish Shetty, while Rev. Fr. Philip Neri Arhena, the parish priest of Kemmannu St. Theresa Church, will offer his blessings.

Several dignitaries are expected to attend, including MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udupi District In-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, MLA Yashpal A. Suvarna, former MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat, Karnataka State Cooperative Federation President G.T. Devegowda, District Cooperative Union President B. Jayakar Shetty Indrali, former ministers K. Jayaprakash Hegde and Pramod Madhwaraj, Kanchana Hyundai MD Prasad Raj Kanchan, Hooda Beach Healing Centre’s Dr. Mohammad Rafiq, Udupi Cooperative Societies Sub-Registrar Lavanya, Kundapura Cooperative Societies Assistant Sub-Registrar Renuka G.S., and SCDCC Bank Directors Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty Belapu, Ashok Shetty Bellampalli, Rajesh Rao Pangala.

Also in attendance will be the Principal of Kemmannu Pre-University College, Lakshminarayana Rao, former Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority Janardhan Thonse, Thonse Gram Panchayat President Kusuma Ravindra, Kalyanpura Gram Panchayat President Nagaraj Kundar, Tenkanidiyur Gram Panchayat President Shobha D. Naik, and Badanidiyur Gram Panchayat President Yashodha Acharya.

Arun Kumar S.V., retired Sub-Registrar of Kundapura Cooperative Societies, senior cooperator Sarala B. Kanchan, and soldier Kishan, along with former presidents, directors, and retired staff of the society, will be honoured during the event.

As part of the centenary celebrations, the society has organized events including the felicitation of centenarians, a health and blood donation camp, cooperative and Navodaya sports tournaments, and donations to schools and various organizations.

The day’s events will begin with a flag hoisting at 8 AM, followed by a cooperative rally flagged off by social worker Veronica Cornelio at 9 AM. There will be performances, including a Yaksha Natya by Tonse Pushkala Kumar, a music concert by Kudroli Ganesh, and a magic show by Kudroli Ganesh, as announced by Society President T. Satish Shetty at a press meet.

Vice President B. Afzal Saheb, Director Raghavendra Prasad, Chief Executive Officer Mahesh Salyan, and Branch Manager Kishore Shetty were also present at the press meet.
