Kerala CM Reacts to BJP’s Setback in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

PTI, Jun 5, 2024, 1:55 PM IST

The 2024 Lok Sabha election results have been a significant blow to the BJP, undermining their attempts to allegedly subvert democracy and constitutional values, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated on Wednesday.

In his reaction to the poll results, Vijayan pointed out that the people of India have shattered the BJP’s illusion that it could move forward using communalism and sectarianism to divide the electorate.

In a released statement, Vijayan noted that the BJP’s victory in Thrissur would be critically evaluated. He conceded that the LDF did not achieve the victory it anticipated in Kerala, performing similarly to the 2019 elections, where it only won the Alappuzha seat. This year, its success was limited to the lone Alathur seat.
