The truck of Kerala lorry driver Arjun who went missing following a landslide at Shirur village in Uttara Kannada district was discovered on Saturday, September 21 afternoon.

During the operation, led by expert diver Eshwar Malpe, the truck’s wheels were found submerged in the water. The truck was upside down, and Eshwar Malpe managed to secure a rope around the wheels to mark the location.

Arjun has been missing since July 16 after his lorry carrying timber was swept into the river in the landslide. Several rescue teams had been deployed at the time, but strong water currents hindered the search.

The landslide had swept away both the truck and a nearby hotel into the Gangavali River as the highway collapsed. The NDRF team used drones to scan the area and identified the truck’s location in the river. However, due to the strong water flow, diving to inspect the vehicle had been delayed.
