A man was surprised when he received a parcel containing dishwashing soap and a Rs 5 coin instead of the Apple iPhone 12 he had ordered on Amazon.
Noorul Ameen, a resident of Aluva, Kerala, is the customer. The strange encounter became popular on social media later.
According to Indian Express, Ameen ordered the iPhone on October 12 after paying Rs 70,900.
He filed a complaint with the police station after receiving the Vim dish wash bar and a Rs 5 coin in the package. During their investigation, the cybercops discovered that the phone that Ameen had ordered had been delivered to someone else in Jharkhand in September of this year. According to the DNA, Ameen placed the order using his Amazon Pay Card on October 12 and received the box on October 15. He also shot an unpacking video of the phone but was taken aback when he saw what was inside.
“We contacted Amazon officials and the Telangana-based merchant,” one of the police said during the investigation. Even though the order was placed in October, the phone has been in use in Jharkhand since September 25. When we contacted the seller, he told the phone was out of stock and that Noorul’s money would be refunded,” according to DNA.
In a separate incidence, a Mumbai resident ordered mouthwash online and received a Redmi Note 10 in the mail instead. The platform user who goes by the name Lokesh Daga tagged the e-commerce giant Amazon to narrate the claimed goof-up with his order while sharing the occurrence on microblogging site Twitter.
