KGF: Newlywed couple dies after attacking each other with machetes

KGF (Kolar): In a tragic incident within the Andersonpet Police Station limits, a newlywed couple who had married for love attacked each other with machetes, resulting in both their deaths.

The deceased have been identified as Likhitashree (18), daughter of Srinivasalu and Lakshmi from Bainehalli village, and Naveen Kumar (30), son of Muniyappa from Shantipuram, Andhra Pradesh.

Likhitashree and Naveen Kumar were married on Wednesday at the groom’s sister’s house. The wedding ceremony was attended by the groom’s parents, the bride’s parents, and some relatives.

After the wedding, the couple went to the groom’s uncle’s house in the same village. They locked themselves in a room and attacked each other with machetes. Both sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to a hospital in KGF, but Likhitashree succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Naveen Kumar, who was critically injured, was transferred to a private hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment. Unfortunately, he also passed away due to the injuries.

The incident has left both families and the community in shock, as the couple’s love story ended in such a tragic manner. The police are investigating the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
