Bengaluru: State Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chauhan has informed that Sandalwood actor “Karunadu Chakravarthy” Kiccha Sudeep has been officially appointed as the Ambassador for the ‘Punyakoti Dattu Yojana’ (cow adoption programme) scheme.
The scheme is a flagship initiative by the Government of Karnataka to create awareness of cow adoption and creating goshalas.
In his letter to Sudeep, the minister said, “To inspire and create awareness among people of the state about the noble initiative by the state government, the State Animal Husbandry Department is happy to announce that the government has officially appointed you as the Ambassador on your birthday (September 2)”.
“Earlier, the department had written a letter to Sudeep to be the Ambassador of the initiative. He has accepted it without any remuneration. Sudeep has humbly said that this is his service towards protecting cows”, he added.
Meanwhile, the minister has opined that Sudeep being appointed as the Ambassador of the initiative, would strengthen the cause of cow protection.
