Mangaluru: Abundant catch of fish and the coronavirus scare has led to a free fall in the prices of King Fish (Anjal) in Mangaluru. It is said that, three days back, King fish was 850/kg but now price have dropped to Rs 650/kg.

Earlier, due to the unavailability of fishes, the number of purseseine boats were reduced. But in the past few days, around 40 purseseine boats from Kasargod and other regions have gone for fishing. It is said that, the catch of King fish was at peak for the last three days which has now led to the fall in the prices.

Also, due to the coronavirus, the restaurants have limited the purchase of fishes as the number of people going to restaurants and hotels have reduced considerably.
