Kodagu: Action to hand over houses before the rains

Madikeri: Essential action will be taken to hand over the houses to the victims of the natural disaster  before the onset of the monsoon season, assured the new district commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy speaking at a press conference on Saturday March 2nd.

The work on house construction is progressing ad 55 houses in Made and Karnangeri have reached to the stages of roofing, informed the DC.

There are complaints that in the first phases 840 homeless were identified and later, some of the names were removed. Action has been taken include the names. Already, the construction work on the houses is progressing at Jamburu, Made, Karnangeri and other places.

As a first priority, houses will be constructed for the victims through Rajiv Gandhi Housing limited, later if the victims come forward to build the houses themselves, then the amount will be provided to them and thirdly, actin will be taken for the construction of houses in the land of the victims through agencies. Among them, land has already been provided to Infosys at Jamburu, informed the DC.
