Kodagu: Man dies in elephant attack

Kodagu: An incident of a man dying after being attacked by an elephant was reported from Gonikoppal in the district here.

Rangaswamy (53) had gone out on his morning walk along with his pet dog when the elephant attacked him.

People nearby chased away the elephant and took Rangaswamy to the local Community Health Centre where first aid was administered.

He was being taken to Mangaluru for further treatment when he died en route.

It was reported that the elephant had earlier attempted to attack a newspaper distributor too.
