Kodagu Native, Former Hockey Player Killed by His Wife in Mumbai

Mumbai/Kodagu: Kodagu native, Mumbai based former Hockey player Appaiah Chenanda (52) was brutally murdered by his second wife Amitha (45) at his residence in Malad of Mumbai on Saturday afternoon after a verbal clash over an unknown issue.

The incident took place when the duo was taking liquor alone at their residence. Following a verbal quarrel Amitha stabbed her husband and injured self. The locals informed the police the matter soon after the incident.

Amisha has been admitted to a hospital by the police for treatment and the police team is expected to register her statement once she recovers from shock. As a Hockey player, Appaiah represented Air India, TATA, Mumbai and other hockey teams.
