Madikeri: Police officials in the district here have reported instances of passengers from Kerala presenting fake COVID-19 test reports for passage into Karnataka.
Officials are now setting up extra monitoring units to prevent such cases.
Goods transport vehicles mostly ply on the roads between the States here. Drivers and passengers of vehicles have to get an RT-PCR test report, which has a QR code, to pass into Karnataka.
In one instance, officials found that the QR code on a test report was not working.
In another instance, two people showed a test report with the same reference number, sample collection date and time.
In all such cases, officials do not allow the passengers and the vehicle to enter the State.
