Kokkada road accident: Ambulance shifting the injured ends in the drain
Accident along Dharmasthala-Subrahmanya state highway

Nelyadi: Two cars collide head on at Parpikallu in Kokkada along Dharmasthala-Subrahmanya state highway at 10:30 am in the morning on Monday May 6th. Around eight people have suffered injuries in the accident.
A swift desire car going from Dharmasthala towards Bengaluru collided head on with a celerio car coming from Alankar to Dharmasthala at Parpikal. The people traveling in the celerio car are identified as Yamuna (40), Dhanya (16), Mokshi (19), Muttappa (45) and Mohini (43). But there is no information till now regarding the passengers in the swift desire car going towards Bengaluru. All the injured have been shifted to a local hospital.
Ambulance ends up in the drain
Amidst this, the ambulance which was shifting the injured to the hospital unfortunately fell into a drain near Kokkada Dwara. The ambulance driver Naveen has suffered injuries. In his haste to reach the injured to the hospital, the driver lost control of the speeding ambulance, toppled and halted in a drain. At the same time, a scooter rider at the location of second mishap missed danger by a hair’s breadth.
Policemen from Nelyadi police outpost and Highway Patrol police rushed to the accident spot and regularized vehicular movement. Traffic police have registered a case in this regard.
