Kolar: Congress leader brutally hacked to death

Kolar: Congress leader and former Zilla Panchayat President, M. Srinivas alias Councilor Seenappa (62), was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight in Srinivaspur, Kolar district on Monday, October 23.

The brutal attack took place near a bar and restaurant being built by Seenappa on Mulabagilu Road.

A gang wielding deadly weapons violently attacked Councilor Seenappa, while supervising the progress of the construction project.  was suddenly subjected to a violent assault. It is gathered He was sprayed in the face with paint and struck repeatedly with mace and long swords.

The assailants further also attacked a person named Amar, who attempted to intervene.

The vicious assault left Seenappa with grave injuries. He was promptly rushed to the Government Hospital in Srinivaspur, and later to Jalappa Hospital in Kolar, where his death was confirmed.

Councilor Seenappa had switched allegiance from JDS to Congress five years ago. His brutal murder is suspected to be rooted in political animosity, a not-uncommon occurrence in the Srinivasapur constituency.

Srinivasapur police have initiated a case and launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators. Former Speaker Ramesh Kumar expressed profound shock at the loss of his supporter and rushed to the hospital.

It has come to light that six individuals involved in the act have managed to evade capture.
