Kolar: Illegal sand stock seized

Kolar: Police and Revenue Department officials have confiscated about hundred loads of sand and a truck near Kamasamudra in Bangarpet taluk after conducting a raid on illegal sand storage here.

The officials under the instruction of Deputy Commissioner G. Sathyavathi took action against the sand mafia during her visit to Yergol dam project area on Monday.

Ms. Sathyavathi took special interest in the case after the Revenue and Police and Forest Department authorities did not make any move to stop illegal sand mining in the territory. She additionally instructed that checkposts be introduced at Kanamanahalli and Doddaponnandahalli to stop sand transportation. Following her instructions, the police officials conducted the raid.
