Kollur: An ambitious ropeway project from Kollur to Kodachadri Hills is being planned.

If implemented, it will be the first ropeway in coastal Karnataka and add to the economy of Kundapura and Byndoor taluks.

Kodachadri has special religious significance due to the presence of the Sarvajna Peeth.

The foot trails in the hills are in some places impassable. Tourist presently soaking up the beauty of nature here in SUVs.

MP B Y Raghavendra and MLA B S Sukumar Shetty both have supported the project.

The project will be implemented through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode and some private companies have already come forward to invest.

The ropeway is also being seen as an eco-friendly alternative, as they will prevent cutting of trees for building the roads and preventing harm to animals.
