Konaje: Three bike-borne miscreants on Monday allegedly attacked a BJP activist near Konaje.

The injured has been identified as Prakash Shetty (38), a BJP activist and former member of Konaje gram panchayat.

The incident occurred while Prakash was returning home along with his friend on Monday night. Three bike-borne miscreants swung a sabre at Prakash. Luckily, the sabre only injured his hand and he is currently being treated in a private hospital.

Earlier, a man named Usman who was accused of sexually assaulting a girl who came to his shop was beaten and handed over to the police by locals in Konauje. The attack on Prakash Shetty is said to be a retaliation attempt relating to the incident.
