Konaje: Burglars strike at house, decamp with over 700 grams gold and Rs 5 lakh cash

Konaje: Thieves broke into a house in Konaje Kodijal and decamped with 700 grams of gold ornaments and Rs five lakh in cash on Wednesday, March 24 night.
The incident took place in Abid’s residence in Kodijal, he is an areca nut dealer.
It is gathered that Abid’s niece’s wedding was to be held shortly and therefore, he had brought gold ornaments kept in the bank locker.
The thieves who entered the house of Abid during late-night hours stole the ornaments kept inside an almirah in the bedroom. Abid happens to be an areca nut dealer and had reportedly brought back home cash pertaining to his areca nut trade.
Konaje police have registered a case in this regard and an investigation is underway.
