Konkan Railway rewards man for noticing crack in tracks

Bhatkal: Konkan Railway officials handed over a reward of Rs 10,000 to Mohan Madev Naik, resident of Bengrey, Bhatkal after he informed officials about a crack on the railway track (weld failure) between Murdeshwar and Bhatkal.

Authorities rushed to the spot soon after they received the information. The staff then repaired the damage on top priority.

The prompt and timely act by Mohan prevented a major mishap, thus saving lives as well as railway property.

Appreciating his alertness and sincerity, a reward of Rs 10,000 and an appreciation letter was handed over by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited to Mohan on June 15 during a program arranged at Bengrey Grama Panchayat.
