Koppal: Fire breaks out in container lorry cabin

Kushtagi: A fire broke out in the cabin of a container lorry on the 4-lane National Highway near SB Petrol station here.

The lorry was on its way to Bengaluru carrying cars. A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.

The driver, who noticed the fire in the cabin, stopped the vehicle and notified the emergency services. Due to the blowing wind, the fire reportedly engulfed the entire cabin and further intensified.

Fortunately, the fire service personnel managed to douse the blaze after 15 minutes.

Fire Station Officer N Raju said that a tragedy was averted as the fire was put out before it could reach the fuel tanks and tyre.
