Ballari: In the wake of the State-wide bandh called by the BJP on Monday, police have arrested and lodged a case against Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna, his son Amaresh Karadi and 36 others. A case has been registered against all of them on the grounds that they prevented police officials from discharging their duties during the bandh.

Police Inspector Ravi Ukkund has written in a complaint that Sanganna and 37 of his supporters laid a siege to the Town Police Station, used foul language against the cops and forcibly took away a seized autorickshaw that was fitted with a public address system. Without seeking permission, the autorickshaw was used to make announcements in support of the bandh. When it was seized and a permission letter was asked, Amaresh and others had obstructed the police official from carrying out his duty.
