Koppal: With only a few days remaining for Lok Sabha Elections, BJP Member of Parliament (MP) Sanganna A. Karadi has tendered his resignation from both his parliamentary seat and the primary membership of the BJP. The resignation comes amid allegations of a lack of recognition for his service to the party and the people of the Koppal Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing the media here, Karadi said that he had sent his resignation letter addressed to the Speaker of the Parliament, Om Birla.
Karadi cited “threats to his self-esteem” as the primary reason for his decision. He expressed pride in his tenure as an MP, spanning a decade, during which he claimed to have facilitated significant development projects in Koppal. However, he lamented the recent political climate, stating that the BJP had “failed to acknowledge his contributions adequately.”
Karadi asserted his pivotal role in establishing the BJP’s presence in Koppal. Despite his dedication, he expressed disappointment at not being recognized by the party leadership.
Furthermore, Karadi claimed the internal conflicts within the party, alleging that certain leaders had “plotted” against him, leading to his defeat in the assembly constituency. He questioned the “lack of trust” in his performance by party leaders.
“The people of Koppal Lok Sabha constituency are with me even if the BJP abandoned me. I will serve the people till my last breath,” he added.
He also sent a separate resignation letter to the BJP state president, B.Y. Vijayendra, formally relinquishing his primary party membership. He urged the party leadership to accept his resignation.
