Brahmavar: A student has committed suicide and another student has gone missing from Korady boy’s hostel in Hanehalli village. The deceased student is identified as Mallesha (17), from Advibavi village in Gangavati taluk of Koppala district. The missing student is identified as Mahesh (17) from Bijapur.

Incident synopsis

It is being said that Mahesh and Mallesha had planned in the morning to leave the hostel. Mallesha informed the hostel warden that he was going to get medicine for some infection to his feet. But the warden did not allow him to go alone and sent him along with someone else.

Amidst this, Mahesh threw his school bag close to the hostel and escaped.

It is being said that since Mallesha failed at his attempt to escape, he committed suicide by hanging from a tree near the hostel on Thursday evening. Since there was a special class on Thursday night and as Mallesha failed to attend it, the teachers searched for him and that is when the incident came to light. Both the students were pursuing 10th std at Korady school.

It is being said that since the duo were slightly bad at studies, they were scared of the upcoming SSLC exam and had hence planned to escape.

A case has been registered with Brahmavar police.
