Koratagere: A bridge connecting to Goravanahalli-Teetha villages, built across the stream flowing from the Teetha Reservoir collapsed on Friday, August 25.
Reportedly, the reason for the collapse is due to heavy rains in the Koratagere taluk over the past few days and the gush of water released from the reservoir that flowed over the bridge.
As a result of this, the connection between Koratagere and Doddaballapura (Bengaluru Rural) has broken.
The situation has led to travel inconvenience among the locals.
Meanwhile, the distressed locals have urged the local administration to repair the bridge at the earliest and ensure road connectivity.
The locals have also alleged that the 20-year-old bridge collapsed as there was no timely maintenance.
Meanwhile, PWD officials reached the spot and assessed the situation
Currently, the bridge is completely closed for vehicular movement and alternative arrangements have been made.
