Kota: The demand of farmers from Giliyari Handekere within Kota gram panchayat to feed the canal flowing through Thekkatte-Manur Devasa with the water from the Varahi river has come to fruition.
The farmers have been demanding for years that they can start sowing and planting of crops sooner if water from the Varahi river is directed to their villages. For this, they had repeatedly appealed to Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty.
Now, with the arrival of the river’s water, the farmers say they will start planting soon and not wait till the monsoon begins.
