Kota double murder: Accused ZP member surrenders

Kundapur: Days after the Supreme Court overturned a Karnataka high court order granting bail to Kota Zilla Panchayat (ZP) member Raghavendra Kanchan, in connection with the 2019 Kota double murder case, the absconding accused surrendered before Kundapur court on Friday.
Kanchan, who had gone absconding after the apex court ordered his immediate arrest, arrived at the court on February 7 along with others accused in the case and surrendered themselves.
The accused have been sent to jail and the case will be taken up for hearing on April 1.
On January 26, 2019, Yatish Kanchan and Bharat were murdered following an argument over the construction of a leach pit.
Raghavendra Kanchan, who has been accused of plotting their murder was arrested by the police. Later he moved the high court and secured bail.
Parvati, mother of deceased Bharat had challenged the high court order granting bail to the accused in the supreme court.
