In a distressing incident at Heggunje Gudde near Shiruru Moorkai, a worker faced a harrowing encounter with a leopard while engaged in grass-cutting activities at a dairy farm on Monday.

The victim, identified as Krishna Naik, had ventured into Vikyath Kumar Shetty’s dairy farm to procure grass for the cattle when the ferocious attack occurred. Naik sustained severe injuries and was promptly rushed to Brahmavar Private Hospital for medical attention.

The menace of leopard infestation looms large over the region, with numerous reported incidents of attacks on both livestock and now, humans. This escalating threat has stirred apprehension among local residents, prompting calls for urgent intervention from the concerned authorities.

Furthermore, the aggrieved locals advocate for the provision of adequate compensation to the victim.
