KRRS opposes Made Gowda welcoming Cauvery authority

Mandya: The warning of the Cauvery Water Management Authority by the Union Ministry of Water Resources and River Development has evoked blended reaction in Mandya area.
While G. Made Gowda, leader of the Mandya Zilla Raitha Hitharakshna Samiti, respected the warning, the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) has censured it.
Mr. Gowda, former MP, told journalist here on Saturday that the experts may give justice to farmers in the Cauvery basin as it would take choices simply after thinking about the capacity in the supplies in the basin in Karnataka and the prerequisite for local utilization and sparing standing products.
Be that as it may, KRRS pioneers and water system experts raised worry over the setting up of expert. The KRRS said it would “sound the death knell for farmers in the Cauvery basin in Karnataka”. Shambhunahalli Suresh, KRRS district president, said the samiti, framed to initiate the Cauvery agitations, should battle for farmers.
As indicated by another KRRS leader, the sangha would encourage Mr. Gowda to abandon his position, thinking about his age and his asserted powerlessness to lead the development and inability to dissect the advantages and disadvantages of such warnings or requests.
