Mangaluru: The K S Hegde Academy (KSHEMA) hospital at Deralkatte has started telemedicine service for people needing medical assistance and consultation.
Due to the lockdown in force to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, many patients have not been able to visit their physicians for check-ups. Even those with medical emergencies find it difficult to reach a hospital. This service is to aid such cases.
Patients in need of medical care can WhatsApp their details to the number provided by them and the physicians there will either call back if required or prescribe medications through WhatsApp with the physician’s registration number.
Many parts of the world have started using such technology to reach people in need of immediate medical or other help.
