KSRTC bus collides into parked lorry; Two killed, six injured

Chikkamagaluru: Two persons were killed and six others sustained serious injuries after a KSRTC bus collided into a parked lorry at Sakhar village in Kador taluk here on Monday, September 23 night.

Truck driver Saravana (40), a resident of Shivammoga and Ruchita (22), a resident of Belur Taluk are the deceased persons. The injured, including a seven-year-old child, were rushed to Chikkamagaluru district hospital for preliminary treatment. Later they were shifted to a hospital in Shivammoga for further treatment.

As per reports, Truck driver Saravana had parked the vehicle by the roadside on National Highway 173 after it ran out of fuel. He was filling fuel in the tank, using a can when the bus rammed into the truck. Saravana sustained head injuries and died on the spot. Ruchita who was sitting in the front row of the bus also died of injuries sustained in the mishap.

Sakaraya Pattana Police Station registered a case.
