Vijayapura: In yet another case of ‘violence’ against Kannada-speaking people in Andhrapradesh, a group of miscreants allegedly assaulted a KSRTC bus driver and conductor in Srisailam.

It is said that the bus was traveling from Vijayapura to Srisailam. The incident took place on June 2 when the driver and conductor were sleeping inside the bus at the Srisailam bus stand.

Around midnight, a group of people barged inside the bus and began attacking the duo. However, they were rescued by the locals after they heard the duo scream for help.

The bus driver Basavaraj Biradar has been severely injured in the incident. Following this, a case was registered at the nearby police station.

Earlier,  two people from Karnataka were injured in the violence which started as a verbal duel between a pilgrim and a local shop owner in Srisailam.
