KSRTC buses to have GPS based announcement system

Mangaluru: All KSRTC buses operating from Mangaluru will soon have GPS-enabled system which will announce the names of all bus stops on the routes.

The Mangaluru depot of KSRTC will introduce ‘GPS Based Next Stop Announcement System’ in all the buses to alert passengers.

The system, which will be made active in 100 KSRTC buses of Mangaluru depot in the first phase, will be different from the service introduced in Bengaluru and Mysuru. The GPS-based Next Stop Announcement System will track the bus stops enroute based on the latitude and longitude of the location.

Mangaluru depot has currently started on a trial basis on 10 buses on Mangaluru-Kasaragod.
