KSRTC shifts gear: Manipal-Statebank route switches to Non-AC buses

The KSRTC has deployed regular buses between Mangaluru’s State Bank and Manipal, replacing the KSRTC Airbus service that was previously operational. The new bus service aims to restore better connectivity between Manipal, Udupi, and Mangalore (Bejai), with separate buses operating on these routes.
Earlier, four Volvo buses were operating between the Mangalore Railway Station and the Airport. Due to the significantly low number of passengers using these airport shuttle buses, trips were canceled, leading to the usage of those buses from State Bank to Manipal by KSRTC. However, due to the buses being under maintenance, regular passengers on this route are now served by regular KSRTC buses.
The state government initiated this initiative following a request to provide convenient travel options for women. Presently, as female passengers can travel free there is an increase in the number of passengers traveling daily, according to KSRTC officials.
