K’taka Budget 2021: Further developemnt of coastal tourism; new aquarium to be built

Manipal: In the budget presented on Monday, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced that Trasi, Maravanthe, Ottinene and other beaches in the Udupi district will be developed at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
He also said that a grant of Rs 10 crore has been earmarked for the development of tourism at Someshwar beach in Bynduru taluk of Udupi district.
Diesel-powered fishing boats will now receive 1.5 kilolitres of diesel at the diesel delivery point.
The State government will grant Rs 62 crore for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. Additionally, Rs 2 crores will be granted for technical upgradation.
A modern fish processing and value addition centre will be set up at a cost of Rs 6 crore by the Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation.
Fish Sales Unit and aquariums will also be set up at a cost of Rs 30 crore.
