K’taka Budget 2021: Gaushala in each dist; scheme for rearing of new breeds of sheep, poultry

Bengaluru: In the Budget presented on Monday, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced a gaushala to be built in every district of the State.

“A comprehensive cattle development plan will be implemented for the development of local bovine breeds such as Sahiwal, Thar, Gir, Ongol and Devani,” the chief minister said.

Yediyurappa also announced a theme park to be set up for the rearing and display of cow, poultry and various domestic animals on a 100-acre site in Hesarghatta in Bengaluru.

“Rs 1 crore will also be set for the development of goat breeds, the construction of a breeding centre at Koppal for the rearing of Narisuvarna sheep breed and compensation on the accidental death of sheep will continue this year,” he said.
